Dick Wymenga
Division 2 - Clearwater County

Hello, I am Dick Wymenga. My wife, Rose, and I farm in the Leslieville area. We are long-term residents of this area and county. We are community supporters being involved with the Leslieville Community Hall and the Rocky Agricultural Society. We were involved with the Rocky North Beef 4-H Club for many years when our children were that age.
I am an Olds College graduate where I studied Livestock Production and Agri Business.
I have been involved with many agricultural boards including Alberta Beef Producers and Alberta Barley. I also served two terms as a county councillor for this division.
I would like to see improved broadband service for the county. Council needs to find the most efficient way of providing this service, either through owning it or partnering with an Internet service provider. It must be economically viable for all county residents.
The county needs to facilitate more input from county residents on renewing the Municipal Development Plan with opportunities for face-to-face in-person forums when it becomes possible to do so.
The county needs to renew a relationship with the Town of Rocky Mountain House. The county provides 50 per cent of funding capital and operational funds for the arenas and swimming pool.
We need to work together with waste and recycling as we have in the past. Previously the councils have won awards for their ability to work so well together. I would like to see this relationship renewed.
I have worked with government representatives from all levels and am familiar with government procedures and processes.
I am approachable and wanting to work for the betterment of our county.
