Georgia Mae Carter (Holtorf)
Oct. 31, 1936 – Feb. 3, 2024


We are sad to announce the passing of Georgia Mae Carter (Holtorf) on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at the age of 87 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

She was born to Lena and Henry Holtorf at the hospital in Saskatoon, Sask., on Oct. 31, 1936. She lived on the family farm outside of Allan, Sask., with her parents and siblings.

Georgia went to Saskatoon and became a teacher. She started teaching in Broderick, Sask., and then moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alta., where she taught school. This is where she met her husband John Douglas (Bubbins) Carter and they got married on July 4, 1959. They lived in Rocky Mountain House where their four children were born: Carol Ann Carter, Gayle Marie Carter, Darcy John Carter and Glen Joseph Carter. When she quit teaching, she went to work cooking in rig camps. She retired in her early sixties and lived on her acreage until her passing.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Carol Bellamy and son Darcy Carter; grandchildren: Nicole Bellamy and Jessie Bellamy; siblings: Rita Amendola, Louise Holtorf, Judy Nosper, Linda Holtorf, Pat Holtorf and Gary Holtorf.
She was predeceased by John (Bubbins) Carter, Gayle Carter, Glen Carter, Marry McLeod and Joe Holtorf.
As per Georgia’s request no service will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
