Robert (Bob) Nesbitt Glover
1943 – 2024

Robert Nesbitt Glover (Bob), 80, of Rocky Mountain House went to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2024, after a battle with cancer.

Bob was born on May 13, 1943, to George and Isabel in Melfort, Sask., as the eldest of five boys and one girl. He graduated from high school in Rocky Mountain House, and then started with the Alberta Forest Service, where he embarked on a 42-year career. He had a passion for Christ, loved music and the outdoors, and grew up playing hockey and cheering for the Oilers.

He married his high school sweetheart Anetha Salmon in 1964, and they went on to have four children, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Bob retired from Forestry in 2002 to spend time with his growing family, which was his pride and joy. And before painting houses or creating in his workshop, he could be found each morning with his brothers and friends in his new corner booth “office” at Tim’s.

Bob is survived by his wife Anetha; son Gordon (Jill) and their children Brittani (Tyler) Leicht and Tristan; daughter Geneva (Keith) Siemens and their children Shelby, Lacey (Jason) Friesen and great grandson Emerson, and Cassidy (Josh) Dekker and great-granddaughters Scottie and Remi; daughter Glenda (Gerald) Vandeligt and their children Graden and Gennae; and daughter Ginette (Ryan) Downey and their children Alexis, Katelyn and Madison.

He is also survived by brothers David (Eva), William (Gay), James (Delores) and Lloyd (Jeanette); along with three cousins who were raised like brothers: Walter (Chan), Lawrence (Sheila) and Garth (Bonnie). Bob will also be missed by brothers-in-law Arthur Salmon, Kenneth Salmon, Lloyd (Janet) Salmon; and sisters-in-law Judy (Melvin) Lougheed, Terry (Dennis) Gray and Tina (Myles) Wasik. One uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends also mourn his passing.

Additionally, Bob is predeceased by his sister Sharon, who passed shortly after her birth.

Bob’s memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, at the Rocky Alliance Church in Rocky Mountain House.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rocky Mountain House Hospital Palliative Care Department, 5016 - 52 Ave., Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 1T2.
