Frances Margaret Paisley
Sept. 28, 2024

Frances Margaret Paisley of Rocky Mountain House passed away on Sept. 28, 2024, at the age of 95, with her children by her side.

Born in Caroline, Alta., Frances was the sixth of eight children born to Mike and Mary Benz. Frances attended school in Caroline and worked full time on the family farm. Later on, Frances had a job at the telephone office in Rocky, and this is when Frances met Stewart. Frances and Stewart had a quick courtship and they were married in 1956.

Frances and Stewart had a family of five children and lived for a number of years in Fort Nelson, B.C., but they eventually moved back to Rocky to raise their children.

Frances was an avid bowler and for years we had a family league team who even made the legion playoffs. She started downhill skiing in her 50s; she enjoyed golfing and was an avid fisherman. The grandkids could always count on Grandma to go sledding on a tire tube with them as well.

Frances was predeceased by her husband Stewart, daughter Frances and granddaughter Natasha, her parents, as well as all her siblings — with the exception of the baby of the Benz family, Marie Ogilvie.

Frances is survived by her children: Cheryle Paisley (Colin McKenzie), Pat Cowan (Dean Schultz), Duane Paisley (Bobbi Feil), Darren (Lana) Paisley, Tom Davies; one sister Marie Ogilvie; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Frances will be held Friday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Rocky Funeral Home.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Kids with Cancer and Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Condolences may be forwarded to www.rockyfuneralhome.ca.

Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, entrusted with the arrangements.
