Joan Lenore Pozzebon (Periche)
1934 – 2024

In loving memory

Joan Lenore Periche, aged 89 years, peacefully departed on March 14, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on Nov. 13, 1934, Joan’s upbringing on a small homestead farm in Dovercourt, near Rocky Mountain House, shaped her lifelong connection to nature and animals. She tragically lost three siblings (Helen, Anna, John) during her young years. Her artistic talents and passion for writing were also expressed through sketching and painting, and were a testament to her vibrant spirit.

In the hearts of her family and relatives, Joan’s presence will forever be cherished. She guided us with a quiet wisdom, embodying grace and kindness in every aspect of her life. Her beauty, both inner and outer, radiated love and compassion.

Despite her quiet demeanour in her final years, Joan showed immense courage and dignity through her trials. Her absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply, yet her love will always endure.

Joan was wonderfully blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and held dear to her heart.

She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her five children: Kenneth (Stephanie) Armstrong of Oklahoma City, OK; Rod Armstrong of Lethbridge, Alta; Marion (Peter) Pearce of Abbotsford, B.C.; Katherine (Saeed) Armstrong of Calgary, Alta.; and Roberta (Darrell) DeVeyrac of Drumheller, Alta.

She joins her husband, Robert Pozzebon, in eternal rest, along with her parents, Sarah and Nicholas Periche; brothers Harry and Edmond; sister Emily; and great-grandchild, Brody.

Special thanks and gratitude to Doctor Simmons and staff at the Calgary Rockyview Hospital whose compassionate care gave comfort to Mom in her final days.

A private interment will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rocky Mountain House, Alta.
