Alva Rose
Saunders-Tetzlaff
Alva was born in Olds, Alta., on Nov. 24, 1941, to Myrtle Sigfried and Rosswell Tudor of Sundre, Alta. She grew up in Fadear Valley in the interior of British Columbia. She was always involved in 4-H, earning several trips to the Pacific National Exhibition and one to the Canadian National Exhibition in Ottawa. Alva was always involved in the church and volunteering in the community. She was a very talented musician as a gifted pianist and fiddle player. She also rocked the organ and accordion with some guitar thrown in. She was not a quitter and had an incredible spirit of perseverance. Alva will very much be missed by her friends and family. Alva is survived by her husband Ed Tetzlaff; her daughter Melody Pawloff and her children Merissah (Mike) Pawloff, and Nethaniel (Sidney) Pawloff; daughter Carmen (Brian) Miller and her children Courtenay (Benji) Enns, Jeremy (Ashlie) Boker, Victor Miller and Mercedes Miller; son Erik (Shirley) Saunders; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Joy, and brother-in-law Wendel Huber. A very special thank you to all the health care aides, especially Stephanie Cadzow who continued to be of assistance while Alva was in the Good Samaritan House. Alva will be laid to rest at the Eagle Hill Cemetery, Mountain View County, Alta., on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at the Caroline Church of the Nazarene, Caroline, Alta., at 2:30 p.m. with refreshments to follow.
