1941 – 2019

Mr. Gerald Dennis ‘Jerry’ Litz passed away peacefully, following a hard-fought battle with cancer, at Innisfail, Alberta on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 78 years. Jerry was born on January 30, 1941 at Calgary, Alberta, to loving parents who soon moved the family to a farm near Wimborne, Alberta and later to Red Deer, Alberta. At the age of sixteen, Jerry became a Plumber by Trade and worked in this capacity, until shortly before his passing. Jerry married his first love, Connie in 1966 and settled in the Red Deer Area; where their marriage produced three beautiful children. After leaving Red Deer, Jerry and Connie moved their family to a farm near Condor, Alberta; where he lived his dream of farming for nearly forty years. Jerry lost his wife, Connie to cancer in 1988; he found love a second time, marrying Phyllis in 1989; welcoming her three children into the family. Following retirement, Jerry and Phyllis moved to Innisfail, Albera; where he would spend the final years of his life. Jerry’s family and friends remember him as a kind and giving soul, a father figure to many, and dearly loved by all he met. From a young age, Jerry demonstrated a talent and love for music. He played with numerous bands across the decades: most notably, locally-famous group “The Dots”. Jerry will be long remembered by many in his familiar spot on stage, plucking his red Stratocaster Bass Guitar.
