Marie Helene Smith
March 23, 1952 – Jan. 5, 2021

It is with heavy, saddened hearts we announce the passing of Marie Helene Smith on Jan. 5, 2021.
Marie was born March 23, 1952 in Tisdale, Sask., to parents Madeleine and Louis Relland. She was the fourth of six daughters. Marie and Doug met in 1968, in Eldersley, Sask. In April of 1971, they married and moved to Rocky Mountain House that August. While in Rocky, they grew their family: a son Brian and a daughter Therese.
Marie was a wife and mother. As the family got older, she re-entered the work force in insurance at the Co-operators Insurance for 21 years, then at Foothills Livestock. She enjoyed her family and close friends, walks, gardening, and beautiful evenings.
Marie is survived by her son Brian, daughter Therese (Todd) Maupin, grandchildren Cody Maupin, Austin (Joe Greenwood) Maupin, and great-grandson Denver Maupin. She also leaves behind her siblings; Louise (Ray) Myshchyshyn, Marguerite (Richard) Mier, Lorette (Bob) Gardner, Florence (Frances) Gress; and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as uncle Ernest and auntie Meryl Campbell and family; mother-in-law Rose Smith, siblings in-law; Patricia Setter, Carol (Richard) Radford, Clifford (Cheryl) Smith, Margie (Ron) Colburn, Fay (Leonard) Mooney, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Douglas, her mother and father, sister Jean Relland; father-in-law James Smith, sister-in-law Diane Mooney and brother-in-law Ken Setter.
A family graveside inurnment will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery.
