Violet “Carol” Pratt
March 9, 1944 – Nov. 7, 2022

Carol leaves behind her husband Arthur Pratt; children: John (Tami) Pratt and Lori Pratt; and grandchildren: Carly, Kimberly and Michelle Fielding; siblings: Terry Abrams, Rosemary (Colin) Dent, Robert (Heather) Gudim, Fae (Al) Roberts and Bruce (Diana) Gudim; siblings-in-law: Marge (Bill) Girard, Dale (Judy) Pratt, Shelley (Daryle) Graham and Gayle (Ken) Lungle; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Carol was born in Consort, Alta., March 9, 1944, the first child of Margaret and Walter Gudim.

The family soon moved to Rimbey, where Carol graduated high school. She studied hard to earn her Registered Nurse designation from Mount Royal College in 1970. She also married Art in 1970, setting up their home in the Bingley area.  Carol nursed in Rocky, Red Deer and Ponoka, until choosing to stay home as she and Art welcomed John and Lori into their family.

Carol and Art made many good friends in their neighbourhood over the years, working hard at running a business and family from their home. They relocated in the 90s to the North Taimi area, again making many friends in their new neighbourhood.

Carol trained to become a reflexologist and was very skilled at it.

Carol was an excellent cook and baker and was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She was always crocheting gifts for family and friends, remembering birthdays and special occasions. She was devoted to her family, especially her beloved husband Art. She was an amazing mom, sister, daughter, aunt and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.

Carol died peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Nov. 7, 2022.

If you’d like to honour Carol’s memory, there will be a service at Rocky Funeral Home, 4804 - 48 Street, Rocky Mountain House, Alta., on Nov. 18, 2022, at 11 a.m., or we invite you to perform a random act of kindness in her memory.
