Curling Club raffle returns

The Rocky Curling Club continues each year to raise funds for the self-sustaining club. Funds raised help with various areas, be it for new equipment, building improvements, club events, clinics, etc. It’s all a necessity for the club going forward.
Last year the club finished the exterior of the building, added a storage room, and installed bigger new viewing area windows for fans’ enjoyment.
In this year’s raffle, first prize is a $5,000 travel voucher plus $2,000 cash, second prize is $2,000 cash and third prize is $1,000 cash. Last year all prizes were won by residents right here in Rocky Mountain House!
This season, the club has 280 memberships and just over 50 juniors in our junior program, which is growing by leaps and bounds.
The “Extra End Lounge” in the club is becoming a popular spot for meetings, Christmas events, New Year’s party, various socials and bonspiels.
The lounge seating capacity is 120 so it’s perfect for these events.
Two Sisters Catering is the in-house caterer, and when these ladies get to cooking, people are impressed with everything they do – from the linens to meals and desserts.
This year’s New Year’s party is bound to be a busy one. Last year the tickets were sold out, with comments from everyone stating they will be back this year.
New Year’s Eve tickets are on sale now and can be picked up with Gail at the Extra End Lounge or by calling Leanne 403-844-1949. Parties of six, eight or 10 will have reserved decorated tables. Tickets are $60 each .
Entertainment will be by Allen Christie and Hot Brands and a catered meal and midnight snack will be served by Two Sisters Catering.
The club also holds several bonspiels each year. Coming up next is the Town and Country Bonspiel. It is a mixed event (3/1), from Jan. 10 to 13, 2019. Hurry in to sign up as these bonspiels fill up quickly.
